Last Call for Approaching the Unreal!

This exhibition is in collaboration with APA San Francisco.  In the following weeks, gallery director, Bryan Yedinak, and gallery manager, Danny Sanchez, will review the work submitted and begin curating the September exhibition.  We are asking artists to submit images that are more narrative based with a touch of whimsy or surreal. Great examples by Modernbook Gallery artist are Tom Chambers, Jamie Baldridge, Maia Flore and Kristina Varaksina. Please do not miss your opportunity to submit for this call for entries! Entries must be uploaded on APA website by midnight (PST) on July 2nd. Also, fourth of July festivities take place this week, so the art walk scheduled for First Thursday is bumped to next week, Thursday July 10th, 5:30-7:30pm. Mark you calendar! This year's theme will be, Approaching the Unreal. Gallery Director, Bryan Yedinak and Gallery Manager, Danny Sanchez, will curate and then exhibit a selection of images at Modernbook Gallery. Last day to submit is July 2nd! We are asking artists to submit images that are more narrative based with a touch of whimsy or surreal situations. Maia Flore & Kristina Varaksina exhibition extended to July 26th       (above) Sleep Elevation #12 Maia's Sleep Elevations are whimsy images of girls in various states of sleep. Their adventures from the real world into dreamland vary from high above the streets of Paris or just above the soothing sounds of the ocean.   (above) Brothers in Arms by Kristina Varaksina. Kristina's Mystery of the Female explores human psychology by telling stories and creating imaginary worlds. Creative lighting and play of the colors are the key elements of her work.
