Team LACBC Triumphantly Completes Climate Ride California

Before: In San Francisco

On Tuesday, Team LACBC completed Climate Ride California, a 4-day cycling adventure through win country from San Francisco to California's Capitol in Sacramento! The team had stops in Petaluma, Calistoga, and Napa.

Our team performed tremendously, not only by biking 50-80 miles a day, but by raising over $70,000 dollars for LACBC and climate change organizations. Thank you to the entire team: Team Captain Greg Laemmle, Alex Amerri, Herbie Huff, Eric Bruins, Alek Bartosouf, Dalila Mendez, Marc Horwitz, Eddie Beres, David Rindlaub, Alan Bair, Parisa Mirzadehgan, Aaron Landon, Patrick Pascual, and Erik Mar!

And thank you to all of our donors and supporters that supported each of our team members.

After: In Sacramento

The team ended in Sacramento on Tuesday, and some participated in California Advocacy Day yesterday. Planning & Policy Director Eric Bruins and Team LACBC member Aaron Landon met with Assemblymember Steven Bradford, author of last year's 3-foot passing bill that was passed.

Team LACBC by the Numbers (as of writing this):

  • 71,236: Dollars raised by Team LACBC
  • 16,571: Dollars raised by Greg Laemmle, a Climate Ride record for most money raised by an individual
  • 250: Miles each participant rode on Climate Ride this year
  • 14: Number of amazing team members on Team LACBC
  • 5: Riders on our team that were Laemmle Theatre contest winners (David, Eddie, Dalila, Alan, and Aaron)
  • 3: Dollars more that Eric Bruins raised than Alek Bartrosouf when they reached the finish line in Sacramento (at the finish line, Eric raised $5083 vs. Alek's $5080. ..  though those numbers are still going up)
  • 3: Number of Team LACBC members riding fixies (Marc, Erik, Parisa)
  • 1: Number of Team LACBC member riding a folding bike (Greg rode his Tern the whole way!)
  • 1: Place Team LACBC got in fundraising for Climate Ride California
  • 0: Number of ties Alek packed with him for California Advocacy Day

Eric Vs. Alek

In the Eric Vs. Alek intra-office battle, Eric Bruins has been crowned King of the Mountain at LACBC Headquarters for raising more money by the time Eric and Alek reached the finish line in Sacramento.

Eric Bruins: $5083

Alek Bartrosouf: $5080

However, Alek has raised more money after the deadline, as donations are still being accepting. You can still help Alek feel better with our little competition by making a donation.

Either way, Team LACBC is the indisputable winner. Thank you, Team LACBC!
