What's Next for Fell and Oak Bikeways?

If you're having trouble viewing this email, you may see it online.

Dear Kevin,

Your help is needed now!

Despite our years of on-the-ground community organizing for a safer connection between the center of the city and western neighborhoods, a vocal minority has risen up in opposition of the Fell and Oak streets bikeways, trying to prioritize their parking convenience over your bicycling safety.

We want you to know your safety is our priority, and we need your help now.

A special contribution today can move this critical project forward. Your gift will ensure that this link of Connecting the City -- a complete and continuous network of safe and comfortable bikeways -- moves forward.

We understand that trading some parking for new bikeways may not appeal to everyone, that's why we continue to work with the City to minimize parking loss, while still prioritizing your safety.

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition’s leadership is needed now more than ever to move this project forward. Your safety can't wait. We have worked tirelessly for years to engage community members during every step of this process, ranging from door-to-door outreach to serving as bridge-builders between the City, neighbors concerned about parking, businesses in the area, and people like you, who pedal Fell and Oak streets.

Our work is not done. We need your support now to help us fund our daily on-the-ground advocacy -- outreach, staffing needs and educational materials -- to make sure that you will be pedaling on separated bikeways on Fell and Oak streets soon.

The last community meeting where the City will present its designs for Fell and Oak bikeways is this Saturday, March 31st, from 10am to 2pm. Please stop by this Open House to lend your voice to the best design that will help you and your loved ones feel safe and comfortable on these streets.
We believe your safety comes first.  If you are in favor of drastically improved biking conditions on Fell and Oak streets, please donate today to the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition so we can effectively represent your needs. Let's not allow a vocal minority overshadow your safety.

With gratitude,

Leah Shahum
Executive Director

P.S.  The Fell and Oak Street bikeway project is at a critical point now. Your support will help us convince the City to advance this project by year's end.
