LACBC's Bike Valet Returns to California Plaza for 3rd Straight Season LACBC has partnered with Grand Performances for the third year in a row to bring you a series of "pedal pushers" performances this summer! From June until September, Grand Performances will be hosting FREE concerts, film screenings, dance performances, etc. at the outdoor California Plaza in Downtown L.A., and we'll be providing complimentary bike valet at several of them! Riding your bike and parking for free to a free show is the perfect way to spend a summer night. Northeast L.A.: Councilmember Cedillo is hosting a 2nd meeting for N. Figueroa bike lanes. This is your opportunity to express your support for bike lanes along a corridor that can use safety improvements. Please attend, and wear green! The meeting will take place in the school's auditorium.

Las Virgines-Malibu: The goal of the Las Virgenes-Malibu Regional Bicycle Master Plan is to make region a more enjoyable and safer place to bike for recreation and/or transportation. Please fill out this survey to help create a plan that meets your needs and wishes. Take the survey!
Westside: The City of Los Angles will host two public environmental scoping meetings for the Coastal Transportation Corridor Specific Plan (CTCSP) and the West Los Angeles Transportation Improvement and Mitigation Specific Plan (WLA TIMP). Join us to hear about the proposed amendments to the plans including development/traffic impact fee programs, revisions to the fees, trip generation rates, exemptions, and in lieu credits; and updates to the transportation improvements. An EIR Notice of Preparation (NOP) is available for review at:http://planning.lacity.org/eir/nops/ENV-2014-1458-EIR.pdf An update to the Westside Mobility Plan will also be presented. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) will provide the project history and updates on the study to create a transportation blueprint for the Westside that will offer strategies for multiple transportation choices over the next 25 years. Women Bike Awards Mini Grant to LACBC and Multicultural Communities for Mobility

Many thanks to the Bike League's Women Bike program for awarding a mini grant of $500 to LACBC and MCM to help launch a pilot program to increase women's capacity to become community leaders. PVBC/LACBC's Daniella Alecedo and MCM's Maria Sipin co-wrote the proposal to include workshops, bike rides, and social events.

We rode through the neighborhoods of Poly High, Cambodia Town, Zaferia, Coronado Design District, and Rose Park - past V.I.P. Records, with stops at the the Long Beach Firefighters' Museum, Homeland Cultural Center, Orizaba Park, the plaza of a Cambodian Temple, and Siem Reap Cambodian Restaurant. Many thanks to board members April Economides and Caryn Howard,a s well as Cambodia Town native Steev Suos, for planning out the route and leading the ride.
