Join us for Events to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Rodney Fernandez

Come Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Rodney Fernandez

From SCANPH, on behalf of the Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation.
Greetings!

It is with great sadness we must let you know that the Founding Executive Director of CEDC, Rodney Fernandez, passed away peacefully on October 23.

Rodney was CEDC's Executive Director from 1981-2011. He was instrumental in growing CEDC from a grassroots advocacy organization focused on farm worker housing to one of the largest nonprofits in Ventura County. CEDC's mission is to serve low- to moderate-income individuals and families with economic development initiatives and programs through a community building approach.

We would like to invite you to share in events to celebrate Rodney's life and legacy at these upcoming places and times:

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church

427 N. Oak Street
Santa Paula
Rosary - Friday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass - Saturday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m.

Both of these services will be streaming online. Please look for the Garcia Mortuary banner.

A community celebration of Rodney's life will take place on:

Saturday, November 2, from 1:00 p.m. - 5 p.m. at The Wilson Ranch (home of Yvonne and Chris Wilson) located at 999 Cliff Drive in Santa Paula. Carpooling is encouraged as parking near the ranch is limited.

We appreciate the many condolence messages we have received. If you wish to contribute to Rodney's legacy, you may make a donation in his name to the Rodney Fernandez Community Building Fund at CEDC. You may click here for information, or mail a check to:
