| It is with great sadness we must let you know that the Founding Executive Director of CEDC, Rodney Fernandez, passed away peacefully on October 23. Rodney was CEDC's Executive Director from 1981-2011. He was instrumental in growing CEDC from a grassroots advocacy organization focused on farm worker housing to one of the largest nonprofits in Ventura County. CEDC's mission is to serve low- to moderate-income individuals and families with economic development initiatives and programs through a community building approach. A community celebration of Rodney's life will take place on: Saturday, November 2, from 1:00 p.m. - 5 p.m. at The Wilson Ranch (home of Yvonne and Chris Wilson) located at 999 Cliff Drive in Santa Paula. Carpooling is encouraged as parking near the ranch is limited. We appreciate the many condolence messages we have received.
