Dear Kevin,
Your San Francisco Bicycle Coalition membership has been renewed! Thank you! As a SF Bicycle Coalition member, you're contributing to San Francisco's vibrant bicycling community and strengthening the voice of more than 12,000 SFBC members making San Francisco a great city for bicycling. Together, we are making San Francisco a great place to bike and live. Thanks again.
With the help of members like you, the SF Bicycle Coalition has made great strides, winning over 45 miles of bike lanes in San Francisco. We are on the brink of making San Francisco a world-class city in which to ride a bicycle, and with your help we know we can make it happen.
The SF Bicycle Coalition has been working towards these improvements for nearly three years and we did it! Last summer, the MTA Board unanimously approved the Bike Plan, giving the green light to 45 new bike lanes. See sfbike.org/bikeplan for more information about the hearing and these critical bike projects.
Your official SF Bicycle Coalition membership card will be mailed this week, and it should arrive within 7-10 business days. If you do not receive your membership card within two weeks, please contact us.
If you need to update this information, kindly reply to this email. To make sure you receive your weekly Biker Bulletin and invites to great SF Bicycle Coalition events, make sure this email address (membership@sfbike.org) is in your address book so SF Bicycle Coalition e-mails won't be treated as spam.
Below, I've enclosed some information about your membership benefits, our campaigns for a better biking city and answers to frequently asked questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or just to say hello!
See you in the bike lane,
The Staff of the SF Bicycle Coalition

2. Getting Involved
Our success stems from the energy of our members. There are countless ways to get involved, even for as little as 1 hour of your time.
Flaunt your Office Skills. Volunteers join us at twice-monthly Wednesday Volunteer Nights, Phone Bank nights and by providing daytime office help. Volunteering at the SFBC office is a great opportunity to meet other members, keep our costs down and help keep the wheels turning. Members help with all aspects of office work, from data entry, stuffing envelopes, calling members to writing decision-makers. It all happens at the SFBC office. See sfbike.org/volunteer for details of all office opportunities.
Join an SFBC Bicycling Improvement Campaign. The SFBC's mission is to transform San Francisco's streets and neighborhoods into safer and more livable places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. It's no small task, but judging from our success rate so far, we'll get there. Members help by participating in campaigns.
- Join an active bike lane, livable streets, and/or traffic calming campaign. Member run campaigns exist in almost every neighborhood. For a complete list, see sfbike.org/network
- Improve street conditions by being a Good Roads Lane Steward. Report potholes by calling 311, or become a lane steward and tag road hazards. Read more at sfbike.org/goodroads
Read the weekly Biker Bulletin to get all the latest news on these campaigns.
Help the SF Bicycle Coalition spread the word with community outreach. The SFBC's visibility in the general community is critical to our success. We need members to help us with our free Bike Valet Parking Service and doing outreach at events all over the city. See all upcoming volunteer opportunities at sfbike.org/volunteer.
