It's First Thursday again so you have another chance to stop by the gallery to see Roots, Shrubs and Moss and meet the artist, Stephen Galloway. Stephen's exhibit runs through October 27 but this Thursday evening will be a good opportunity to talk to him about his work, which always enriches the viewing experience. We hope you'll be able to make it.

Corden|Potts Gallery is located at 49 Geary Street, Suite 410, in San Francisco. The gallery is open 11 am to 5:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, and until 7:30 pm on the first Thursday of each month.

This exhibit includes work from Stephen's two most recent series, Roots & Shrubs and Mosswork. In his finely detailed, large-scale photographs, Stephen strives to draw our experience of nature from the actual to the metaphorical. He exposes the seen and the unseen, recomposing bits of the natural world in ways that encourage us to examine nature and also to be carried away by our own interpretations.

Stephen Galloway has exhibited regionally and nationally, including solo exhibits at the Bolinas Museum in 2011 and LIMN Gallery in 2009. His work is included in many individual, corporate and public collections. In addition, Stephen has completed a number of commissioned projects, which are photographic but fabricated with materials such as polyurethane, acrylic, enamel and glass. He is currently working on a major suite of glass works for the new San Francisco General Hospital. Stephen is an associate professor of photography at Sonoma State University.
