Energizer Station Volunteer Info for Bike to Work Day 5/10

If you're having trouble viewing this email, you may see it online.

Hello Bike to Work Day Volunteer!

I want to thank you once again for being a part of Bike to Work Day 2012. Thanks to your help, I am confident that this Bike to Work Day truly will be the best yet!

By now you should have been contacted by your Energizer Station Captain(s).  If you haven't heard from them yet, please let me know by replying to this email so I can follow-up. You can double check your station assignment here. Energizer Station assignments are from 7:15-9:45am and 4:45-7:15pm, but your Captains will be contacting you for help picking up goodies like coffee or bagels beforehand, and we greatly appreciate your extra efforts in this regard.

Following are some last details to make sure Bike to Work Day this Thursday, May 10, is great.

Talking Points:

This year's Bike to Work Day is a great way to show support for the SF Bicycle Coalition's vision for 100 miles of continuous crosstown bikeways, Connecting the City. In the last few years, the SFMTA has striped miles of new bike lanes and separated bikeways across San Francisco -- including new separated bikeways on JFK Drive and Cesar Chavez Street.

These improvements have resulted in an impressive 71% increase in the number of people biking in San Francisco in the last five years. Through Connecting the City, the SF Bicycle Coalition is working to accelerate the construction of new bikeways in every neighborhood of San Francisco by making biking safer and more comfortable for everyone ages 8 to 80. You can help keep the momentum going and show your support for Connecting the City on Bike to Work Day by:
  1. Supporting the work of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition by joining or renewing your membership today
  2. Sign the petition at the Energizer Station (if you are already a member or are not joining)
  3. Mail in the postcard in their Bike to Work Day Bag
And, just a couple reminders:
Membership for new and renewing members is $35. While supplies last at your station, please give a t-shirt to each person who joins or renews on Bike to Work Day. It is one shirt per membership form, so if someone joins with an additional household member, they still get only one Bike to Work Day T-shirt.

Once you run out of shirts, membership still is $35. Once your station is out of shirts, we have no more, as we allocate them completely to the stations for our membership promotion. The shirts are a popular item and go fast, and we are left empty-handed when we get requests for these shirts after Bike to Work Day.

As a thank you for your help on Bike to Work Day, all Energizer Station volunteers get a special limited edition volunteer t-shirt. You can pick up your shirt at the SF Bicycle Coalition office (833 Market St, 10th Floor, 10am-6pm) through the end of the day tomorrow.

On Bike to Work Day, use @sfbikebts to give us on the spot feedback from your Station. Need more membership forms? Just met your membership goal? Too few snacks at your station? Tweet @sfbikebts on Thursday and let us know ASAP.
At the end of your Bike to Work Day on Thursday, celebrate a successful Bike to Work Day with the SF Bicycle Coalition at the Bike From Work Party at Public Works (6-9pm, 161 Erie Street at Mission.) We will have a fabulous DJ, a photobooth, four tasting stations, a sweet raffle, Levi's bike shop and of course, complimentary bike valet! The party is $5 for SF Bicycle Coalition members ($10 for nonmembers or they can join at the door and get in for free.) Don't miss it!

Thanks so much again for helping to make San Francisco a better place to bike and live.  I am sure proud to be among your ranks as a San Francisco Bicycle Coalition member.

See you at the Bike From Work Party Thursday!
