| Dear Valued Members, On September 23rd 2014, the California Strategic Growth Council announced the draft guidelines for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program. This program addresses the issues of land use, affordable housing, transportation and infrastructure needs of the state with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The AHSC Program draft can be found on the Strategic Growth Council website: http://www.sgc.ca.gov/docs/Draft_AHSC_Guidelines_for_posting_082314.pdf. The program is scheduled to be finalized and adopted by December 11th 2014. The Council will be accepting written comments on the draft until October 31st 2014 and public input will be accepted at workshops throughout the state. There are only FOUR workshops scheduled so it is important to register soon if you want to be part of the revision process. The workshop in Los Angeles will be Monday, October 27th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Southern California Association of Governments.
