Dear Kevin, Your SF Bicycle Coalition membership is current through 12/14/2014. Thank you for being a member!
Thursday is Bike to Work Day – Ding, Ding!
It’s the 20th Anniversary of Bike to Work Day in the Bay Area and San Francisco will be celebrating in style! Join us on Thursday, May 8 for the biggest bike day of the year and celebrate how far we’ve come in the last two decades. If you’re a new rider, we invite you to “get rolling” on Bike to Work Day, then we’ll help you keep pedaling strong all year long. If every day is Bike to Work Day for you already, we still want you to join us! Bike to Work Day is the day of the year when all eyes are on the huge and growing number of people biking in San Francisco (96% increase in ridership since 2007)! It’s our chance to show the city that your commute counts and that more people biking makes a better San Francisco.
Four Ways you can Get Rolling on the Big Day:
1. JOIN OR RENEW YOUR SF BICYCLE COALITION MEMBERSHIP This is the SF Bicycle Coalition’s biggest membership day of the year, and it helps fuels all of our advocacy in many ways that extend beyond the big day! Anyone who joins will get a limited-edition 20th Anniversary Bike to Work Day 2014 tote bag perfect for shopping trips, so bring a friend and sign up/renew on Bike to Work Day! 2. PEDAL BY AN ENERGIZER STATION Your SF Bicycle Coalition has set up 26 -- that’s right, more than two dozen! -- Energizer Stations around the city. Pedal by and pick up your special 20th Anniversary Bike to Work Day bag, get high-fives from some of our 200 amazing volunteers and join or renew while you’re there. Many stations will have local bike shops doing basic bike repairs, too, so you and your bike can pedal off happier than when you left the house. Check out the Energizer Station Map Here. 3. RIDE WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR Join your Supervisor, fellow members and neighbors on a fun bike ride downtown together ending at the City Hall steps for a press conference at 8:30AM. Commuter Convoys leave at 7:45AM from each of the 11 Supervisor districts, and each route will celebrate the progress that has been made as well as upcoming projects in the pipeline. Take a look at the locations and RSVP today! 4. SPREAD THE WORD IN SOCIAL MEDIA Let your friends and followers know that Bike to Work Day is Thursday, May 8! Use #btwd and follow the SF Bicycle Coaltion at facebook.com/sfbike, twitter.com/sfbike and instagram.com/sfbike. Offer your #bikebuddy tips on biking in SF.
