THIS WEEK:
SAVE THE DATE: Winterfest, our annual member party, is Sunday, November 3! NEWS & UPDATES Oh What a Night: 3 Key Community Meetings Tonight!
The Wiggle Neighborhood Green Corridor Open House (from 5-7:30PM at the Electrical Workers Union Hall, 55 Fillmore St) will continue the conversation started earlier this year to improve walking and biking conditions in the neighborhood. Much of this project hinges on ensuring that Scott St traffic is calmed. Towards the Mission, the Potrero Streetscape Improvement Project Open House (from 6-8PM at the SF General Hospital Cafeteria, 1001 Potrero Ave, 2nd Fl) will showcase the final draft proposal from the City for Potrero Avenue. The first shared bike/transit lane might result from this project, creating a quicker, safer and separated path for both bikes and buses. On the other side of the city, the second Community Meeting (from 6-8PM at SF State, Towers Conference Center, 798 Font Blvd) for the 19th Ave Transit Study will continue exploring transportation improvements around SF State and Parkmerced. While the party started with a torrential downpour, the sun came out in time for hundreds of people to play, ride bikes and enjoy New Belgium Beer at the big bike and beer ballyhoo. The folks at New Belgium said this is the first time it's rained in Tour de Fat history, and yet San Francisco delivered on our reptutation as being one of the biggest bike-loving cities in the country!
