NEWS & UPDATES Take the Market St Survey & Show Support for Separated Bikeways Care about biking on Market Street? Be sure to fill out the Better Market Street survey about your priorities for our city’s main corridor. This is your chance to let the City know that you want them to build a high quality separated bikeway on Market. What’s next for the project? It now goes into the City’s lengthy environmental review process, and, after that, the design selection and approval process. Take the survey now! Please note, you have to download the design options as well. Show your support for Option 2, with separated bikeways the full length of Market Street! Sign up for the Tour de Fat Bike Scavenger Hunt! Tour de Fat is just over a month away, on September 21, but you can start celebrating early by playing a game that helps to spread the word about the SF Bicycle Coalition’s most FUN fundraiser! Teams will bike around the city, gathering clues while posting Tour de Fat flyers in local shops! Riders of all levels will enjoy this event and everyone will be rewarded with prizes and earn a token for a tasty New Belgium beer at Tour de Fat! From work in Events Promotion to Development to the Winterfest Art Show and more, we’re looking for passionate, hard working people who are dedicated to helping make San Francisco a safer city for biking and living. A Greenway on Sunset Boulevard? Yes! The SF Public Utilities Commission is working on a project to green Sunset Boulevard between Golden Gate Park and Sloat. This project is a tremendous opportunity to add a much-needed off-street bikeway through the Outer Sunset. Please be sure to take the City’s project survey and let them know that you want to see a bike trail in the design. A Better Route between CCSF and SF State Continuing with new SF Public Utilities Commission projects, the forthcoming Holloway Green Street project will bring new life to half a mile of Holloway Avenue between Ashton and Harold avenues, with the potential to substantially improve the connection between the City College of San Francisco campus and San Francisco State University.

VIDEO: San Francisco Has Also Been Invaded by a “Sea of Bikes! Last week, the City reconnected the Market Street bike counter, which has been disconnected during this summer’s crucial repaving of Market Street. Even without the counter activated, it’s pretty clear that there are A LOT of people biking on Market Street. Take a look at this great video of the “Sea of Bikes” on Market. Maybe you’ll find yourself among the school of fishes.
