The AAG Annual Meeting is an interdisciplinary forum open to anyone with an interest in geography and related disciplines. All scholars, researchers, and students are welcome to present.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES

AAG Introduces New Abstract and Registration Deadlines 

All abstracts for the 2014 AAG Annual Meeting in Florida must be submitted no later than December 3, 2013, bringing an end to extended abstract deadlines. However, the early registration discount will now end on October 23, 2013. All presenters are encouraged to register by the October deadline to take advantage of the lower registration rate. Once registered, presenters will have until December to submit their abstracts. Read the Call for Papers and Abstract Guidelines.

GEOGRAPHY CAREERS

AAG Seeks Participation for Geography Career Events

For its annual meeting April 8-12, 2014, in Tampa, Fla., the AAG seeks panelists, mentors, and workshop leaders for career events. A diverse group of individuals representing a range of employment sectors, organizations, academic and professional backgrounds, and racial/ethnic/gender perspectives are encouraged to apply. Email careers@aag.org, specifying topic(s) and activity(s) of interest, and attach a current c.v. or resume. Deadline is December 3, 2013. 

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

About the Meeting

The five-day conference is expected to host more than 7,000 geographers from around the world and feature over 4,000 presentations, posters, workshops, and field trips by leading scholars and researchers. The program will also feature:

  • Latest Research - Presentations and posters by leading scholars and researchers
  • Exhibit Hall - Booths and exhibits showcasing recent publications and new geographic technologies
  • Career and Networking Opportunities - An international networking reception, a Jobs & Careers Center highlighting the latest employment opportunities for geographers, and career development sessions
  • Special Events - World Geography Bowl, Awards Luncheon, and other attendee-organized events
  • Workshops - Training sessions and workshops to help further your professional or academic career
  • Field Trips - Attendees can explore the rich physical and cultural geography of Florida by signing up for informative field trips to led by geographers or other scholarly experts
