Dear Kevin, Help Us Stop Bike Theft DONATE TODAY Sadly, it’s probably happened to you. You come back from dinner or a movie and find that your beloved bike or a key part of it is missing. Bike theft is an epidemic in San Francisco. And with your help, we will finally be able to curb it. This week, the City released its first-ever comprehensive report on bike theft, and it’s even worse than we thought: 4,000 bikes stolen every year and a 70% increase in theft in just five years. Armed with this new and shocking data, now is our time to take action! A donation today of $25, $50, $100 or $500 will support the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition's multi-tiered anti-theft campaign. With your help, here’s what we will do: Set up a citywide voluntary registration program that tracks bike serial numbers and helps recover your bike. Work with the police to set up bike theft stings to catch bike thieves.  Watchdog the City to ensure money budgeted for bike theft actually goes to keeping your ride secure.
