Video: The Inaugural National Women's Bicycling SummitIn September, some of our staff attended the first ever National Women's Bicycling Summit in Long Beach, California. The summit brought together women bicycle advocates from across the country to talk about ways to help bridge the gender gap in bicycling. While many women commute by bike in San Francisco, they are still a minority of daily riders. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is working to change that, through teaching women's bicycle eduction class, teaching more women to bike in our Learn to Ride classes, and Connecting the City with safe, separated bikeways that welcome more people to bicycling. Check out this great video from Streetsfilm, recapping the terrific and hopefully annual Women's Bicycling Summit. Upcoming EventsCheck out our online calendar of events. To add your bike event to our calendar, simply email the details to us. ** Tuesday, October 16th **Oak and Fell Decision at the SFMTA Board * The Oak and Fell Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Project goes to the SFMTA Board of Directors for final approval and you can help support the separated bikeways, sidewalk bulbouts and crosswalk improvements.
