Abstracts, Proposals for AAG Annual Meeting are due Oct. 24

The AAG reminds presenters and organizers that the deadline to submit proposals and abstracts for its 2013 conference is Oct. 24. The AAG Annual Meeting in Los Angeles will be held April 9-13, 2013. Tour Los Angeles from Pueblo to the Sea via Sunset Boulevard

 

Getting to know the lay of the land in Los Angeles can be impossible says Stefano Bloch, California State University, Northridge. Instead, Bloch suggests that conference-goers attending the AAG Annual Meeting tour L.A. via Sunset Boulevard, his most trusted path through the city. He notes, "Sunset Boulevard is perhaps the best choice for exploring the City of Angels via one of its many historically significant, culturally diverse, and topographically distinctive routes." Search Annual Meeting Abstracts Online

 

Organize your participation in the AAG Annual meeting with the easy-to-use online search features available on the conference website. Individual abstracts may be viewed as soon as they have been submitted, and session organizers may post their proposed sessions for viewing. All visitors, including non-members, may search proposed sessions. Presenters can also match an abstract to sessions that have been posted and contact the organizers directly about being added to a session. Learn more.  

Propose a Field Trip or Workshop for the AAG Annual Meeting

 

Field trips and workshops offer Annual Meeting attendees unique opportunities to interact with colleagues with similar interests while learning about the rich cultural and physical geography of Los Angeles and Southern California. The AAG invites anyone attending the upcoming conference in April to organize informative field trips in and around the L.A. area. Field trip proposals are due Nov. 1. Learn more.

Each year, the AAG identifies a few themes for its Annual Meeting to help focus discussion and provide a fresh and engaging structure to the conference program. Attendees are also invited to develop themes relevant to the meeting's location or influenced by political and intellectual trends within the discipline. Current themes include:

The weeklong conference is expected to host more than 8,000 geographers from around the world and feature over 4,000 presentations, posters, workshops, and field trips by leading scholars and researchers. The AAG Annual Meeting is an interdisciplinary forum open to anyone with an interest in geography and related disciplines.
